Do you need surge protector while traveling abroad ?

I've upcoming trip to India and want to know if you need to buy a surge protector or MBP's white adapter takes care of any surge while traveling ?

Your adapter will convert the voltage, but will not protect against surges - either home or abroad

Make sure the one you do get is rated for the electical system in the country you are travelling to ... e.g. 240V vs. 120V here in the US.

the white power brick used on Macs works fine with different voltage. A surge could destroy it though.

okay here is update, this is what I bought from local bestbuy, do you guys think this will work in India because I'm not sure about voltage conversion between US and India. I've convertor plug already which allows me to plug into international plugs
