Many people like to have the latest from Apple, while many hold onto their old iPhones. 3G, 3GS... etc

What device are you getting? Do you need it? Worth your upgrade?

Just wondering.

Just WANT. I have the 5 now.

EDIT: Oh I just saw the poll choices.

I'm a bit of an Apple nut. I gotta pick the "it has a logo" one. ;-)

I don't NEED an iPhone. Nobody NEEDs and iPhone to survive.

That said, I do WANT an iPhone 5C and an iPhone 5S (I love both of them)

I'm holding onto my iPhone 4 until something physically breaks on it, whether it be the display going out, the battery stops taking a charge, or the internal storage going kaput.

So...neither want nor need, really.

I have no personality or confidence or social standing of my own accord... new iPhone completes me.

The champagne iPhone looks nice, but I don't need it, so I'm not going to spend $1000 on it.

To echo a previous comment: no one /needs/ the latest and greatest smartphone. Heck, there are probably very, very few people that /need/ a cell phone at all.

That said, since I am required by my work to keep my cell phone locked with an extended passcode, the finger print scanner on the 5S that will let me get into my phone instantly (and securely) without having to 'button-swipe-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tapOK' to get into my phone ... every freakin' time, is about as close to a 'need' as I think there is, haha. :)

My daughter's not going to spend $1000 on it, either. She's going to spend $399 on it.

I have a 4 and I want the 5S. Will be need sooner or later though, as it is nearly three years old and I wouldn't go to another OS.

It's about 75% want, 25% need. The screen on my 4S is broken, yes, but it's only the bottom and about an app tall, and I've been using it with minimal difficulty since "the incident" in April. If I really needed a new phone I would have used my upgrade in July to get a 5 (or I'd have gotten a 5 3 days ago and saved $100) but I have been stubbornly waiting for the 5S. My want for the 5S outweighs my actual need for it.

I fall into the 'I want' category. I have a 4S and its working just as good as the day I bought it 2 years ago. I still get a full day's use out of the battery with plenty of capacity leftover most days.

However, I don't even need an iPhone at all per se. I could easily make a dumb phone work for me. Sometimes I even ponder the idea just to save some money.

Currently have a 5. The 5s doesn't have anything too compelling for me to upgrade. Love the new touch id, but is not a must. I'll be waiting for the 6 or 6S before I upgrade. Dumping the 5 for a 5S is really a waste of money unless you need the added security of touch I'd.
