I am constantly checking the activity monitor for RAM/CPU usage and shutting down apps that I don't use only to restart them back 15 minutes later.

:apple:I have core 2 duo and 4 GB ram. Is this necessary or can I just throw everything at my Mac and let the OS figure it out?

Mac OS X Is Great at handling Ram.. CPU it can't really control.. The Whole activity monitor part isn't needed but shutting down apps is a good idea, i do that.
