Bought version One on release day.
Sold it as soon as the rumor of number Two was solid.
Bought version Two on release day.
Other than the rather cheap display which bleeds too much light, it's just fine. I'm sure it's due to the fact that Apple wanted to keep the selling price down and it's profit up.

Got the 64 GB + 3G iPad 1 last year, keeping it at least until 3rd generation is released. iPad 2 doesn't make that much of a difference to me to justify the upgrade.
I even think it looks and feels a little cheaper than the first gen iPad, even though it sports the slim, sexy Apple vibe. I've played around with it a couple of times and surprised myself by thinking "no need". That's really rare for me when it's about new Apple products.

I own both although I'm planning on selling my original iPad soon as I don't need both and have no plans to give it to someone else.
iPad 1 / 64GB 3G here...wishing (and prob planning on getting) the new one, though i may hist wait for the 3.

I "owned" two iPad 2s but returned them both due to significant light-leak. I currently own an iPad 1 that I bought because I was over spending time, gas and $$ on janky iPad 2 screens.
My thoughts.. I honestly like the iPad 2 more. IMO it is easier to hold without propping on something. I like the weight and feel of the hardware. It is faster with regards to web/apps/games. It might only be seconds but it is enough to bug me already.
Right now there is a 75% chance I will be returning the iPad 1 to BB and diving back into the madness that is finding a non-janky-screen iPad 2.
