With the MBP 16" 2019, I often have to clean fingerprints near the edges of the screen. I would prefer the type of screen design on the older MBP 2010 17". What is your preference?

The smaller the bezels the better imo. The 16” is pretty good imo(not as good as the XPS). Apple should have really reduced the bezels on the latest 13” model, like they did with the 16” They missed a trick. I was gonna buy the new 13”(well 14” had they reduced the bezels). But now I’m just sticking with my 2017 MBP.

The new iPad Pro looks newer than old iPad that has same look and feel for long time and just looks old.

But in the end of the day it does not really matter.

But thin iPad are bad because it feels like you are going to drop it. So I put the iPad in case it is easy to grab and take with me where ever I go.

Well thin iPad may look nice I just feel like I’m going to drop it so that why I get case really easy to grab and take with me.

I like smaller bezels, I appreciate the difference between my 16” and my old 15”. Hope they’ll reduce the bezels on the 13 as well

Having used the new XPS 13 for work, big bezels really date the device. Perhaps the biggest benefit of the smaller bezels is it actually reduces the footprint of the device. My XPS 13 is noticeable smaller than my MBP 13.

If I compare the typing experience on my MacBook Pro to a same size bezeless like the dell XPS, I prefer the bezels cause it makes room for a little better keyboard. I don’t like feeling cramped when typing for long periods. So for a 13 inch or smaller a tad bigger, bigger than 13 no bezel cause they’re already have big enough keyboards.

Be more specific.

On a desktop? Space isn't much of an issue and a border provides a visual buffer between the display and whatever's behind it. It just doesn't seem like a big deal. I have a 27" iMac and it's huge. Shaving a little off the sides, it would still be huge. Growing the display to the edges, it would still be huge.

On a laptop? Sure. Space is at a premium and if you can push the active display closer to the edges you get more usable pixels in the same physical space. I just got a 2020 MacBook Air and it seems to have a normal amount of edge to the screen. It's not worth fixating on.

On a phone? Space is at a premium but you're also holding the display so it sure comes in handy to have a non-active part of the device you can grab without inadvertantly touching and activating UI elements. Pure edge-to-edge display is frankly a bit of a pain in the ass.

On a tablet? I really prefer to have somewhere to grab onto while I'm holding the thing. I think the bezels on my iPad Mini are pretty great and I like being able to casually pick it up and hold the sides of it in a comfortable way.

I swear, a few years ago every casual tech website reader learned the words "bezel" and "chin" and started fixating on these things to an unhealthy degree. And in many cases, it's just a product styling issue, not a functional issue.

I must be in the minority here but I really don't mind how big or small the bezels are. I look at the actual screen.

But then I'm the same guy who dislikes the notch lol. Maybe I'm just weird.

MacBook Pro 14“ or 16” with really really really thin bezels all around the screen.😍😜
