No, it is not. Nothing beats the kindle to read books (except, maybe, actual books).
I'm with @cdcastillo.
Choose the device that is designed and meant for the thing you're doing. I've never used an XR, but I have viewed books on a 6s+ (briefly) and it's just not the same experience as using an iPad. A Kindle is roughly the same size and it's designed to make book reading a pleasant experience.
Yeah, I've only done it once or twice to verify that the books I put there are indeed there. I have a different intent for the type of books I have in there though. Generally, if I do read on a device, I'll do it on my iPad.Agree completely.
Exactly.
Real books for preference, but colleagues swear by Kindles; personally, I would never read a book on an iPhone.
In my old job I used to handle setting up the WiFi for the editor (I worked for a newspaper) on her Kindle. She used her Kindle for web browsing as well as books so there is also that option.I have a Plus iPhone and a while back I downloaded a free book to see what reading a book was like on a big iPhone.
Compared to a paperback, it sucks.
I also have tried reading a book on a Kindle several times. In all instances, my impression was it sucked compared to a paperback also.
So which was the worst experience (in my opinion) of the two evils? Kindle or iPhone Plus? Kindle.
At least with an iPhone you can instantly jump into doing something else like go to a website or watch a YouTube vid or check email etc when you grow weary of reading endless text on a screen. Where with the Kindle, all you can really do is read a book.
I know many people are fans of the kindle, but I'm certainly not one of them.
