I have been looking at the option of attaching a lens or two to my IP 8.

I had heard of Moment lens, and came across this review, that praises this 58mm lens.

If I am okay with the inconvenience of attaching a protruding lens, are there any other disadvantages or problems with using this lens?

Does it detract from IQ in any way?

This could be a substitute for the tele lens on the 2 or 3 camera iPhones. Attaching it to the main sensor should also provide better IQ as the on the phone tele lenses are f 2.4 and the sensor is smaller than that on the wide angle lens.

I'd appreciate if anyone who has used such lenses shares their experience.

Thanks!

I read several reviews and user experiences and if you use telephoto and ultra-wide moment lenses on iphone 11 Pro then you get better results than with native cameras

Really? Can you point me to some of these reviews. Sounds interesting that an external attachment is able to maintain such quality.
How has your experience been?

There is no phone lens adapter that will give objectively better quality photos. Quite the opposite. These adapters will always degrade sharpness and clarity a little bit. Even the best adapters. Putting glass in front of glass always does. It will give different - possibly more desirable results due the new field of view, but not better. Best IQ is always achieved using the bare lens system the phone was designed with. Degradation may not matter to the user, but it's always there.

You can take night mode shots on ultra-wide or telephoto. Main wide camera has f 1.4 ... or using Anamorphic or Macro lenses. Built-in ultra-wide has still poor quality...
