Fourthed. I use Transmission too. I really like that it shows your DL and UL speeds in the dock.

i like tomato torrent, it's not great... but it works well for freeware

EDIT
i guess i'll try transmission, if it's as good as u say, it can't hurt

Azureus. There are probably "better" ones but I'm used to Az (classic UI, of course!) so I've never seen any reason to switch to anything else.

is there a way so that when you close the lid of your laptop, transmission downloads dont get paused? (and other things as well such Adium signing off, etc.)

Same here. I even updated to 3.x and immediately reinstalled 2.5.

As far as "better" ones or the "best" go, they aren't going to make my internet connection any faster and on healthy torrents I up and download at max with Azureus so I've never seen a point in switching.

I use bittorrents to acquire HD copies of films that I own on DVD, because my computer doesn't play Blu-Ray disks yet.

Otherwise, I don't use torrents.

I used to use Azureus until it kept crashing Leopard. I use Transmission now. I liked Azureus better, but Transmission will have to do.

uTorrent it is absolutely brilliant, but it's a windows thing - intel mac users can use it but I'm not sure it's a straightforward process. We got it on one of our PCs and use it via VMware on the mac pro.

Short of that, Transmission is good stuff.
