Well..... for those of you who know, how long have you been doing it? what moves have you invented with your crew? or yourself?
I'm interested in how many macrumors members have done it. (I have been doing it for roughly 3 months) I got inspired from seeing dance crews, people doing it and the jabbawokeez from Randy Jacksons Americas Best Dance Crew.
For those of you who don't know what shuffling or jerking is, it's a series of underground dance techniques that was invented in the 1980's such as MJ doing a moonwalk, that was used in dance and raves. It has recently within the past years obtain popularity with hip hop dancers.
People from Los Angeles call it the "LA Shuffle", since it originally originated from there, but there is also the "melbourne shuffle" from Australia and jerking is another type of hip hop movement that individuals dance to rap, electronica, and other urban sounds.
Most of the movements involve twisting of legs, sliding legs, random hand movements, shuffling your feet back and forth, spins, occasional flips, popping of legs and knees... (sounds dangerous huh? lol)
I know some of you may have seen some 16-19yr olds in mall parking lots or in the back of the store or even in streets filming each other for YouTube videos and may see this is as stupid and funny!
But I wont lie, it's almost a good workout and fun!
