I noticed I don't require to sync my phone to iTunes anymore.

Updates are OTA.
For the music I use Spotify so I don't need to sync.
iCloud keep your Contacts, Calendar, Mail, Notes and so on sync via internet.

I like the fact I don't need to sync anymore, it's just a complication imo. I can consider my phone a single device that doesn't need a mac or something.

Do you also stopped with sync? Or you need it, if so why?

If Spotify satisfies your needs, cool bro.

My iTunes library is my high-quality, direct rips from CDs, then there are podcasts, then there are radio shows that my box records daily and place them in the iTunes library, so when I come home at night, it's all there and ready to be transferred to the phone. I do WIFI sync, so I suppose that's OTA too. My contacts/calendar blah-blah is iCloud-based because I want them instant.

Wifi sync for some reason never works for me, despite being all-Apple (iMac, Airport, etc.). So whenever I want a new movie on my phone, I'll have to sync it via USB. Otherwise, iCloud does the rest.

I've sold my MBA for 2 weeks (to buy another laptop) and realised that I could live without laptop just fine. My iPad Mini and iPhone 5 doesn't need sync. iPad is a good laptop replacement (my dad is a businessman and I've never seen him using laptop lol, just Galaxy Tab and iPad) if you're not a heavy user (hardcore gaming, office, photoshop, coding etc.) It lacks an USB port, mouse and printing support though.
