I've decided the iPhone 4 isn't for me - I don't see the point over the 3GS.

Yesterday I played with a friend's HTC Desire and was blown away - a lot of the things that I have wanted on the iPhone ever since it came out are quite happily working on the HTC. Things like choosing your own email tone, having profiles (silent, discreet etc.), expose-like effect, and the fantastic home screen showing time, date, weather, favourite apps, missed calls, emails, texts etc., and the typing correction is massively better than the iPhone's.

I honestly don't think I'll ever actually buy an HTC - I love the iPhone GUI and the fact it easily syncs with iTunes, but playing with the HTC made me realise that the iPhone, where once was a breakthrough device, is now being left behind by other company's innovations.

In my opinion, the iPhone has been essentially the same since the 1st gen and I'm beginning to wonder if the 5th gen will also be the same. To those that have more experience of Apple, are they likely to change the design or just stick with the same thing year in year out?
