on the mid 2010, do you think there will be an update to the graphics switching software since some software triggers integrated that probably shouldnt. if not, no biggy battery life is still impressive to me.

It's possible. Would be a great thing IMO, run it on intergrated all the time until you need the GPU, then set to automatic for some tasks, or full on if you feel you need the more powerfull GPU the entire time your using it.
 
I've been using this new mbp for a few days and i've haven't seen it use integrated graphics. The only thing i open is the web browser and it's still using discrete graphics, are you kidding me apple?

I really hope they do implement that.
 
This one issue is making me hesitant from picking up one of these machines; Apple totally dropped the ball with this issue.
