Do you think Steve Jobs will unveil the new iPhone? If not then who?

What keynote? WWDC? What has this to do with the iPhone specifically?

I don't wish to offend, but what on earth is the purpose of this thread - or are you at a loss for something worthwhile to do? ;)

Okay, he changed the title right after I posted and added a poll.

Honestly? Im bored...

Just want to know your opinions. This has been bugging me since he sent out his letter last year.

There's already a "DO YOU THINK new iphone or not?" thread somewhere.

I sort of expect Jobs'll do it, but I'm not really bothered either way. I never watch the full video of a Keynote anyway, just catch the live coverage.

I'm very much looking forward to the new iPhone but I could care less who does the reveal. I understand Castro is available and looking for new ties to the US however...

Considering the time-table that has been put on his possible release, I feel that Steve Jobs will at least announce the new phone. While we might see Phil & others go over the process in which they made it, why it's better, etc. etc...

Ye like Scott Forstall and peeps like them

I just want to know steves doing well....
:(

I miss his presentation style, but everyone that has presented in his place has done a superb job IMO. I loved the Macworld keynote.

The fact that Schiller said there would be, 3.0, cheapening of NAND flash, take your pick.

Do you not consider a software update like 3.0 to be a sufficient iPhone update for 2009? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Schiller did not say that they were going to release a new iPhone each summer, did he? I was under the impression he said Apple would update the iPhone - I consider an extensive software update to fit the bill for 2009. The rest of your evidence is hardly substantial (it's not evidence, it's just occurrence plus speculation).

What evidence? Jobs probably won't do the keynotes for the future iPhone - whenever it comes out.

I was referring to the evidence of there being a new iPhone. Not saying that there's evidence of Steve Jobs 100% being there.

The release will be big enough that SJ doesn't need to be there. It will be big no matter who announces it. As much as I'd like to see him do it, I really have my doubts that he will.

I beleive he said in an interview that the iphone was basically going to have a yearly refresh cycle, but I cant remember when and where it was said. Hopefully someone around here can help me out.

You know what?
I just hope that Jobs is healthy. I know that may sound corny, but I am old enough to understand how much being healthy means. (And how we take it for granted.)

If he is not healthy, you can bet he's not thinking about a silly phone...

I 100% agree

I think if Apple were to let Jobs announce a new iPhone it would undo a lot of the work they have been doing to try to dissociate Apple with the image of Jobs - rather focusing on designers and developers.
