They will turn you away if their system doesn’t have your name. When you get the “Ready for Pick up“ email then your order is on the system. Trust me. If you don’t have the ”Ready for Pick up“ email, most likely your order isn’t ready.I was expecting my new coat to be delivered today, but now it’s being delivered tomorrow (Thursday.)
How about if I blag them, and say I got the day wrong, but go at the right time?
Surely they won’t turn me away?

I have arrived late many times and you just go in and collect.No. They won't be able to give it to you. Just follow the approved procedure.......wait for the email message and then go get it.

All they have to do is walk out the back and pick it up.
I don’t get what all the fuss is about. I guess it’s to do with COVID.
What I don’t get is how difficult it is to walk into the stock room, and pick up two small boxes. What don't you understand about the difference between being a day early and a day late??
Well, if the watch and band combination you want is in stock, sure, they'll sell it to you, and you can cancel your pickup order. What I don’t get is how difficult it is to walk into the stock room, and pick up two small boxes.
They can count it towards their daily step goals.
It’s not rocket science.
Thanks, bud.Well, if the watch and band combination you want is in stock, sure, they'll sell it to you, and you can cancel your pickup order.
But processing your pickup order is a separate process from selling to walk-ins. When you pick up an order, the boxes are waiting for you with stickers with your name on them.
And considering how many possible combinations there are of watches and bands, there's a chance the combination you want may not be available if you walk in. But if you are picking up your coat the day before, sure, why not stop by the Apple store. Just understand there's a chance you won't find the combination you want.
I've stopped trying to puzzle out how the watch and band are packed. Pre-boxed or not, they are happy to let you buy whatever they happen to have in stock, and let you cancel your pre-order. Between wanting to ensure I get *something*, and wanting to see/try the watch/band before buying, I've done my share of pre-ordering items then backing out. Pre-ordering for pickup is a good way of guaranteeing you don't waste a trip when the product you want is in short supply. It also gets you in and out quickly, because you go in, give your name, and they bring out your order.I thought some of these combinations were sent to the Apple Store pre-boxed?

Anyhow, good luck getting your watch, and your coat.![]()
I was a total couch potato, staying in for weeks at a time without going out. It took several starts and stops, but I'm currently on a 100+ day streak of taking one walk a day, most of them around 20-30 minutes. This streak I'm keeping track of with a streak-tracking app, which I find helpful to keeping me motivated, in addition to the activity circles from the watch.Baby steps.
Heya buddy.I was a total couch potato, staying in for weeks at a time without going out. I haven't tried Fitness+, mainly because I have no intention of paying for the monthly subscription after the trial period runs out. So I don't know if they have a streak-tracking function. What was helpful is that my streak-tracking app let me set weekly goals. So I started with a goal of 3 walks a week, then increased to 4, then 5, and I recently switched to once a day.
With something like HITT workouts, keeping track of weekly goals is a good motivating tool, so if Fitness+ doesn't have that function, then I suggest you find a way to keep track -- there are many apps, but a wall calendar'll do, too.![]()
You can see a list of all Apple watch workouts you do, I believe it's in the Activity app, not Health. It's just not in the form of a handy calendar graphics showing when and how often you've done it at a glance.Heya buddy.
Thanks for the info, and motivation.
The AW is ready for collection, but I’ll leave it until Friday.
Does the stock Health app not track walks? Also, did you go for the cellular version? I went with SS, so cellular is included as standard.
Because I know I don't want to pay to continue the subscription, and I already have an idea about what the experience is like, from the Nike apps. Why don’t you try the Fitness+ 1 month free trial? There are other free options on YouTube, no doubt.
milkshakes? Really?I, as you used to be, a couch potato. I’m not even a hot potato, as I’m too lazy to even cook! I just eat chilled stuff. I’m currently addicted to cold tins of macaroni cheese, mixed with hot pepper sauce & mayo. And I eat it out of the tin, chilled in the fridge. My doctor says I have an eating disorder. I’ve lost 3 stones in about 4 months, but they’ve put me on nutrient milkshakes, and I’ve put half a stone back on, which I’m not happy about.
I originally thought I'd find the notifications useful, but that turns out not so much the case. I don't remember now what I expected of the fitness tracking function, but I quickly got addicted to closing the circles, and the rest is history. So has the AW changed your life, would you say? Did you buy it specifically for that purpose, or was it more of a FOMO thing?
What is the app you use, by the way? And what do you listen to, whilst walking?
likewise!Always nice hearing from you.
