I suggest you avoid Maxtor, mine simply failed after a while and I looked up and it happens to a lot of other people too.
I had no problems with my Western Digitals and they're affordable, Seagate should be good too.

Well if you buy a Seagate drive then you are NOT avoiding MAXTOR.... Seagate bought Maxtor lock stock and barrel a year or two ago.

I just bought 1/2 dozen Seagate drives.... some 120gigs to go in some old PC's and 2 400gigs to go into my new MacPro

Thats a pretty good deal plus it looks nicer than the Maxtor one.
