I just got the series 6 last Friday and was upgrading from a launch series 3. I Like it a LOT and don't really see myself upgrading watches again for a while. But I was thinking if Apple did release the series 7 or 8 with video facetime call capabilities ( add cameras) on the bands or something. I know there was some third party company that made a watch band with cameras but never heard much about it. Do you think Apple will eventually add facetime video calls to the apple watch? I feel like that's the last major update it would need for the time being. But it would probably kill battery fast lol.

Try holding your arm up in a position you would use for a video call from a watch. You'll find it's quite tiring to keep your arm in that position for any length of time. Apple still doesn't make touch screen laptops because it's not ergonomic. I expect them to stay away from video calls from the watch for the same reason.

I don’t think we see this any time soon. Ergonomics and power are two good reasons why not.

I also think that having a surreptitious camera on your wrist would make the watch socially less acceptable. No one likes the idea of being photographed unawares.

I thought about that. Yea you are right that would be annoying.

True I was just thinking about the futuristic tech from sci fi lol.

Two points to make:

1.) Nope (To answer your question). The question was actually asked when the first GEN watch launched an April 2015 and Apple hasnever even hinted that they would do anything like this. It’s a function that I don’t think the Apple Watch needs, which also would just degrade the battery even more for something that probably wouldn’t be used by the majority of consumers.

2.) There was a third party company actually created a camera that was attached to a band to the watch for FaceTime calls, and it failed miserably, and I believe the feedback was related to privacy issues and it seemed rather ridiculous to try to FaceTime somebody such a small display.

Anyways, the point is, if there was any one specific feature request for the Apple Watch, it’s definitely not FaceTime.

I dont think facetime will be enabled on aw. But i wish it would have access to youtube.

Yeah, while perhaps that may someday be a thing, I don't wanna accidentally traumatize someone in my contacts list when I'm absentmindedly scratching an itch....:eek::eek:

5 second rule. If any action takes more than that then it's a gimmick not a usable feature for a watch.
