So i watched this music video because the song is awesome and i'm like wow they really scared the crap out of this baby. But then when i watched the making of video it didn't seem as bad. But if you look at the comments in the making of video the people really seem ticked off at the mom for letting that happen. what the videos and tell me what you think. The baby's mom is a total milf btw.

here's the actual music video (skip to 1:10, the rest is just annoying intro)

When I clicked this article I had a feeling it'd be this song.. lol. They're messed up weirdos. I like the song, but the band is just messed up. Most people nowadays are messed up though.

The mom seemed to try and prepare her son in a way, but obviously that didn't work. She's still responsible for using her son to make an extra buck.

But at the same time little kids are scared all the time, they didn't hurt him. And you can really say the same thing about the parents of all child actors. I doubt this is something that really traumatized him for life you know? But people seem really outraged.

I see it as being along the lines of incessant tickling or hiding in the dark and yelling "BOO!" at the right time. All things considered, it's harmless and certainly not abusive, but as a parent I have to question why you'd do it to begin with. It's at the very least mean.

Idk, i think that if i were in a video like that when i was a baby i would think it's really cool today.

I'm not sure "traumatized for life" is the criterion I would use for events to which children should not be exposed. It suggests that anything less than a life long emotional scar is not such a big thing. Assuming the child was not traumatized for life, just badly frightened and unnecessarily upset - that would be enough for the child not to be exposed to that situation.

It is true that some children actors are exploited by their parents (some enjoy the activity), I'm sure you don't mean to suggest that that makes the behavior OK.:)

I don't think it's okay, but it didn't seem to actually harm him. So it's not really the worse thing you could do to a baby...

I don't even know why they had to have a monster scare a baby in this video. I didn't listen to the music, just watched the video, as I already have music on, so I guess it might somehow relate to the music.

I'm not really sure how I feel about it. When I watched the music video, I thought it was very cruel. But in the making of, they let him play with the monster and the first time he's in the crib, he gets scared and they let him out.

I think they did it the best way that they could have, but I still think its kind of cruel to the boy.

After watching the "making of..." movie, it seemed to me they were very careful to keep Zachary feeling safe and comfortable. It's amazing what one can do with editing and camera angles.

As an example, this collage of photos are all from series of images by a photographer called Jill Greenberg. The photos are disturbing, and meant to be so. You would swear that these children were being abused. However, these expressions were the result of having some candy taken away from the child. That's it.... the parent took some candy away. I think it's a parent's duty to take candy away from children in some circumstances.

Children cry when they don't get what they want, and they are not the best judges of what is good for them. And children get scared by things sometimes that they will come to accept as a normal part of their lives later on.

Without being there, it's hard to know how accurate the "Making of ..." film is. So I will reserve judgement. But I didn't see anything in the "Making of..." film that alarmed.

The music was, meh. I've heard worse and I'm over 40. I'm not going to download though.
