Do you think all the screenshots and stuff that steve jobs was doing at MWNY was not real?

Possibly it is a video of the real thing but not actually live to prevent a possible crash at this time of importance?

Maybe since the Windows 98 on-air introduction crash maybe these things are taped and just played in time with what is happening on stage.

What do you think???? Macs do crash sometimes but not nearly up to the death rate of pcs but it does happen.

no that would have been too difficult to do... also if you watched the keynote closely, there were a few bugs.

I don't think he would dare, he might get found out if he had a heart attack on stage and it kind of carried on without him.

crashing

I've the last keynote i went to, Steve's computer did crash, when the camera he was trying to hook up to it didn't load, and one of the demonstration computers crashed when loading Quake 3

but overall, as they say, "The show must go on!"

Ahooy

Yeah if he had a heart attack, the guy backstage plying the tapes would stop them, we are in the year 2002 we can do more than just play a tape, we can cut stop rewind overloop skip and all this stuff.

Yeah I geuss it is real.

Is ther ever keynotes in Chicago?

i think that if anything apple uses a scaled down version of the OS for keynote presentations -- maybe an optimized core that would only run certain stuff, like essentials and what would be shown off that day...

but theres juss no way that there are tapes :p...

juss wondering.. what were the mistakes in the mwny? i havent actually watched too closely.. but im juss wondering...

a couple of thing with ichat and rendevous didnt work the first time, and steve messed up making a smart playlist. It was very trivial tho

oh.. i see.. i see..

yeah, i didnt even notice it the first time i saw it.. and just watching it now, it was still hard to even find when he messed up..

Gr8

True is all that but all Apples mistakes dont compare to the 98 crash!!!!

Apple is really pshing that damn ipod by the way everytime i go into the store they try to sell it. And at the moby tour they had a booth and i got a flat ipod thing with a holagraphic screen!

heh.. what was the 98 crash?

Oh a tale to tell

Back in the day, a one William H. Gates was on stage with all the TV and news cameras pointed his way. His little beotch was plugging a scanner into a pc with (oh oh hey hey brand new at the time) windows 98. He was all like look at this just plug it in it recognizes the scanner and oh shizzle!!!!!!!

T'was the BSOD and the crowd was all like Ahhhh whoaa booooo porno mom???? Yeah anyways that is that and then M$'s Billy said that is why they were not shipping 98 yet!

But apparently they couldnt fix the problem because the same thing happens to me today in my bathroom little girls!

i have the video of the 98 crash, not sure how big it is though.... i could send it to someone via ICQ or something like that, but be warned, im no longer have my cable connection. Dialup for me :(

I've got the 98 crash video... That was a good year, 98... :D

I think Jobs takes a risk every time he demo's a new OS during the keynote, especially since the build's aren't as stable as the official build...
