I really would like to know about real world experiences of the iPod Touch as a device for mobile email. I live in a small English city with a small number of wifi hotspots dotted about the place. If I were to subscribe to the special Cloud rate of £4 per month how efficient is it at picking up mobile email when I'm out and about. Do people find that there are enough open Wi-Fi points leaking into high streets to make this an option without major inconvenience - i.e. buying unnecessary coffee and cake. Or will I be like those people that used to have Rabbit phones in the dim and distant past and always looked for shops with stickers where they could stand in doorways and make their calls? It would also be very useful when I go to London, which I presume by now has a good Wi-Fi coverage outdoors - is this right?
Ultimately, can you type your emails, forget about it, walk around a city centre for an hour or two, take the Touch out your pocket and it will have sent your emails and received new ones?
