Was thinking of getting one.

Not sure if it is worth it though.

By case, I mean those covers you put on your MBP.

Just a sleeve. Don't like cases.

If you foresee yourself using your MacBook in precarious situations, you can get the kind of sleeve that can stay on your computer while you're using it, like a Thule Gauntlet or Vatuka sleeve (my personal fave.)

I have never even considered a case for a laptop. Just take good care of it. My 2010 almost looks like it just came out of the box. There are several scratches on the bottom plate but that's it.

I also use the Speck See-Thru Satin in Black on my MacBook Pro and I love it! It adds just the right amount of grip so that I can carry it one-handed when needed and it has certainly saved the laptop from tons of scratches.

Do cases add signifciant more weight to your MBP?

The reason I want to use a case is because I don't really like the bulkiness of laptop sleeks.

I use pomodoro red case from speck and it made my rMBP a beautiful laptop like no other.

I've never used a case, but I've always had a sleeve or backpack with a dedicated padded compartment for the laptop.

No case. Those collect a lot of dust which can get in and scratch your MacBook anyway. I've used sleeves with both my MacBook Pros. My 09 has a few scratches and minor dents, and my late-13 still looks new. With the 09 I used an Incase neoprene sleeve. Since they haven't made one for the rMBP I got a sleeve from Rickshaw Bags for my late-13.

Sleeves add "bulk" to give your Mac a layer of protective padding when it's in a bag. You take the sleeve off when you're actually using the laptop. I put the sleeve underneath to protect my rMBP from getting scratched (lesson learned after the first week of college).

Speck See Thru clear case for me it protects from so many hits rMBP got when I am on the train and on the bus all the times. Oh it doesn't feel heavy that much...it is a plastic case anyway. :apple:

i use a cheap plastic case to cover the top and bottom, the bottom of the case has enough holes for ventilation.

try using a plastic case and use it for a month or two, you will be surprised how much it gets scratched from daily use and transferring in and out of your bag. you will be grateful you got one haha
