Do You Use a Laptop Lap Pad/Desk/Cushion Top?

So it may just be me but for the past few weeks of all the Walmart, Target, Fry's and Best Buy stores I've walked into have these Laptop cushion tops on sale between $15-$30...

My question here is, do you use one? Do you want one? Need one? Etc?

Obviously here I am thinking if I had one I'd obviously use it while surfing the web on my bed....but then again i'm thinking it may get in the way; a big cushion thing made specifically for my computer...

The truth is, i'm seeing these cushion tops mainly for the purpose to prevent the bottom of your computer from getting too hot, but since downloading smcfancontrol my laptop never gets hot since I usually have it set to 5200RPM.

Your thoughts?
