1 month with my 15" macbook pro touch bar. I still can't find good use of the touch bar. anyone actually using touch bar?

I use it a lot for final cut pro and some other applications. oh, and I love the emoji bar ;)
it's pretty handy for me, the only downside is the touch bar is kinda warm sometime, and may consume more power.

actually, the only downside is that I would be confused with touchbar and touchscreen sometimes, since I use both windows and mac all the time. my new Lenovo yoga 920 has touchscreen, and I always try to touch my MBP's screen right after I use my yoga, lol.

What does BTT allow you to do on the Touch Bar?

It allows you to create touchbar shortcuts for applications. For example, I use audition frequently and added things I frequently use. Still playing around with the trial, but overall like this app quite a bit.

As a long time Mac user I know most short cuts, so the use of the touch bar does not allow me to work faster there for I usually do not use it. I do love being able to control my music from anywhere, even when the macbook is on lock screen. Also on most applications it allows you to unclutter your screen by not being forced to have those 15 tool-pallets open, but just using the touch bar.

It looks cool but I have no use for it. The only thing that bothers me about touchbar is that it takes longer to do things that were faster with buttons such as volume and brightness. Touchbar is definitely not a deal breaker but it didn’t improve my user experience.

Well, for things I need to - like media control, volume control, brightness control, esc, etc. But otherwise, basically - no. I don't.

Pointless. Replace it with an angled array of faceID sensors or something - use mirrors or something to direct it towards your face. Even if it doesn't work that well, it'll be better than the entirely useless and sometimes annoying waste of space the touchbar is.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks. Thus far, about the only convenient thing I have found it for are two things...emoji when texting and picture-in-picture, especially in YouTube. That's about it. I've considered setting it to "expanded control strip" permanently. I don't hate it...just don't really find it convenient.

Now TouchID...I'm in love.

No use for it at all. I use keyboard shortcuts. Those are way faster, and easier (once you learn them of course). I found that TB ruins my user experience. I have to look down just to set volume/brightness, or to use media controls. And most of these controls now take more action then they used to.

If there weren't TB, I would still use MBP. But since they ruined my ESC key, and since it is really annoying (to me at least), I've moved on to another brand of laptops. But would gladly purchase 15" MBP if they ever offer one without TB.

I find the word suggestions very useful. Not while typing, as I look at the screen, but when I make a typo and get a red underline, I can just backspace and the keyboard will make reasonable suggestions. Much more convenient than left clicking on the mistyped word -- I can do all from the keyboard.

There are other cases where it's useful, but many programs implement it poorly (e.g., MS Word). Still I find it useful, if not revolutionary.

I don't buy this argument. I think it's easier to adjust volume and brightness with the touchbar. You just press and hold, and then you can directly slide. Easier than multiple clicks.

I don’t know. I thought so too at first. Most of the time I just want to raise or lower the volume by two or three levels quickly. The slide requires my direct attention rather than just a quick tap that didn’t interrupt what I was doing.

Never use the touch bar.
I would like to lock it so it has the same keys Macs have always had.

I also use my mac in dark and have always been able to feel my way around where the keys are.
Not so with the touch bar.

For me it has been just another gimmick that was invented and is being forced on us.
You can't not get it if you want/need a 15" screen.
So you have to use it. Nice move Apple......

Hi guys, just wondering, i see myself also on the group that will rarely use the touchbar, in that case, does this mean i should just go get the non-touch bar version? i'm not really a heavy user but i do want to buy something that will be good for the next 3 years... sorry for the OT, just figured i'd ask here, thanks
