I have been using AWs since the S3 (I now have a S8) and for some strange reason I have always taken it off when swimming in the sea/ocean.
This is theoretically completely unnecessary as it is meant to be waterproof, but I have always been put off by Apple refusal to take responsibility for water damage.
I now feel like I am missing out on useful usage of my watch and I am thinking I should just wear it in the water and take the risk, like many others do.

What do you do with your watch?
Any problem caused by (sea) water?

First, no AW is “waterproofed”, they have a certain water resistance.
Secondly, some people do, others don’t expose their watch to water. I e showered with my S4/7/U/U2 for years and never had a problem.
I would have not worn my watches into the ocean but when the Ultra came out, that was one of the reasons for me to get it.

100%

And I have taken mine into the ocean on occasion but since I don't live close it's not a regular occurrence. I would 100% rinse it off afterwards, as I would after a pool or lake too.

For my Series 2 and Series 5, I almost always took my watch off before I went into the ocean (when I am in the ocean, it's generally not for long, and I am not swimming for exercise - just sitting at the beach and going in for a cool-down.) But since I bought the Ultra in 2023 I have been swimming with it every time I have been in the ocean. Honestly I've never had a problem with it; I do try to remember to rinse the watch wit fresh water as soon as I can.

In the summer I live at a lake and swim with my Apple watch all of the time, practically every day (though, again, not doing swimming workouts). I rarely rinse it then, though.
