NorCal boonies ~~~by Reno sorta
Just wanted to see what people thought. I'd like to see them come back as they were really durable. My school is about to order a mobile lab and I don't like the MBP or MBA in the environment as the MBP has a glass screen and the MBA (if the kid is strong enough) bend the display or the palmrest.

What's your thoughts?

If there was one, I would like it to be under $800, have an i3, Superdrive, 3 USB ports, HDMI, maybe thunderbolt, or at least a way to have a VGA adapter, 4GB RAM base model but expandable to 16GB. Have a 500GB hard drive and a cache SSD of like 32GB to reduce boot times.

So have them buy ThinkPads.

Yeah the Polycarbonate design was actually fairly strong. But, on the Pro, I've seen one that was dropped from about 4 feet onto the corner, and there was no damage but a big dent. I only know one person who cracked the screen on his, and he was an idiot in doing so. He left it open on the edge of his bed, and left the room. His cat knocked it off the bed and the glass cracked, not the LCD though.

I have only owned an imac until recently when I purchased a mid 2009 macbook off of amazon so I dont know about the "pros" or "air" macbooks but I love mine...I can see saving up for a macbook pro to get a new one a couple of years from now when this one is on its last leg...
