So Cal

I wanted this case so much for the XS Max but they didn't make it. They opted for a universal wallet that didn't have an opening for the camera. But I like taking pictures a lot of times while in the wallet, I find I can hold the phone better and be more steady. I was happy to see they released the V6 Classic again for the new iPhones.

I ordered the brown leather wallet. It scuffs easily, which is part of the beauty IMO. It feels so nice to hold, kind of addictive. These are the positive aspects from my perspective:

  1. Beautiful leather which has a grippy feel to it. I have had there black leather wallet before and it is not grippy or easily scuffed.
  2. Nice hard shell case. Buttons are great. They are kind of inset, seems like the plastic or rubber is thinner around the buttons. Look at the photos for the black wallet to get a better picture of what the case looks like. It has a matte bottom and a shinier plastic upper with a dotted grip on the sides. I like it.
  3. Contrary to what they say, it is wireless compatible. You do have to remove the case from the wallet.
  4. I love the side pocket. I don’t like when credit cards touch the screen of the phone when a wallet is closed. Eventually, I believe they scratch the glass. You can fit several cards and cash easily in there.
  5. The latch to close the wallet is subtle and that is a big positive for me. It closes but is easily opened.
  6. The stand feature is superb. They are all not the same. I have wallet cases that fold into a stand that lay back too far, or slowly fold back more and more as say you are watching a show. This wallet has a firm solid hold to the stand.
The only negative I can see about this case is the brown leather has natural oils. When you close the wallet it does leave some oil on the iPhone screen. Knowing this already and being a little OCD (ok a lot), I bought some Eco Fused micro fiber cloths on Amazon that are sized just about the same as the iPhone Max screens and just keep it in between the wallet and screen. Possibly the oil residue will eventually dry and not be an issue.

I have to say, this is my favorite detachable wallet case ever. I have had a ton from all the competitors.

Just as a side note, Doc Artisan needs to update the video and text on their site. For at least the 11 Pro Max, the hard shell case doesn't have the magnets, they are definitely in the wallet. You can’t attach the hard shell case like they do to your metal car hood. And like I say, it works on a wireless charger.
