Dock application with red bubble notification?

So, I would like to keep an app in my dock where I can let's say create a list of TV shows and put in their air date and that when that day arrives, I get a red bubble notification like you do in Mail when you get a new e-mail.
Is there any way of doing that? I don't want an alarm reminder, I want those red bubble notifications. Anything of that sort? Any calendar-type app?
