Hi all,

Wonder if anyone able to assist, I have my new MBP 2018 as my own device and my work device is Surface Pro 4.

As a rule I will have a single HDMI display, and would want full support for my MBP, but just display & usb keyboard/house for my Surface Pro which has a single USB 3 port

What is your question exactly? Connecting a monitor to your MBP and/or the Surface?

As far as I know the Surface Pro 4 has a mini display port. You can connect any HDMI monitor to it via a mini-display to HDMI dongle. You can connect a mouse to the Surface's usb port (or use a wireless mouse). If you need more than 1 usb connection you can always connect a usb-hub.

Microsoft also makes a Surface-dock. This dock has a lot of connections (including HDMI, usb-ports, power connection etc.). This dock is connected to the 'Mag safe' like power port of the Surface.

The Dell D6000 dock works with both. I used that for a while driving two 24” external screens for both a MBP and a Surface (Book). Need to install DisplayLink drivers (on both MBP and Surface).

Other DisplayLink-based docks will likely also work.
