hey everyone,

I am trying to change some of my dock icons, but every since I got 10.6.3 it wont let me do it...

anyone else having these problems, and any suggestions?

suggestion: don't mess with 'em

Customizing might be fun if you have the time, but I've seen so many problems result (in threads here and elsewhere) that I've decided it's just not worth it.

If you're doing a complete re-design, it can be fun, and some can look truly amazing. If you're just changing a few icons though, I agree, novelty wears off pretty fast. I quite like my Starbucks trash can though :D

Are you doing it manually or using Candybar?

Sometimes you have to drag the icons out of your dock & replace them with the updated ones in your Applications folder with Candybar.

Not sure if you were talking to me or not, but I used LiteIcon to change mine. Nice simple interface simply drag and drop the icons you want into the program, simple restore if you dont like it, and the ability to open full icon folders etc.

Oh and FREE, which CandyBar isnt.

Sorry, was just commenting to the OP.
I'm pretty sure you can get a demo of Candybar for free, I found it really easy to use & it is drag&drop too. Never heard of LiteIcon, will have a butchers at it.

Oh, no worries man. It is a good little program, specially for free. Have an aversion to trialling things, tempting me to pay for programs I don't need!
