I dont know what quite happened. I was dragging a file to an application on the dock, and then the dock stretched like it was about to let me put the file on the dock, then pushed it back out. And now the finder icon is sort of hanging off the dock!

If it ever happens agian, go into activity monitor, and kill the dock process, to reset the dock. :)

and if you would rather use terminal just type killall Dock
(its case sensitive) I use terminal because the activity monitor doesnt work for me when that happens.

Yeah, it is bizarre but it's still quite well documented. That's good because it means you're not alone. Thankfully it's completely harmless. :)

Bump -

I can't add apps to my dock, or remove them. Or move them do different places on the dock. Also, when I open an app, i can't right click to "leave in dock", the option isn't on the context menu.

I've restarted, killed the dock, killed the finder, killed the process, created a new account where it worked fine, to no avail.

Any idea what else I can do?
