Dock magnification not as smooth as 10.4

Dock magnification doesn't seem as smooth as it did on 10.4 on my SR macbook pro and my mom's iMac. any idea why? Anyone else experience this?

Kind of jittery like? or like jelly, wobbly?

It's smooth when mouseovering fast, but wobbly when mouseovering very slowly.

how large is your dock?

I turned the 3d shelf off (because I dont like it) and it is just as smooth as it was in tiger, with about 30 items in the dock...

you need to first type in terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES

and then

killall Dock

then you will have a 2D leopard dock

thats ugly though. anyway to retain the glass dock and have smooth animations? I hope it's addressed in a future OS update. not that big of a deal, but I am nitpicky.

Finally gave the Terminal command a try. Works great on my MBP
