Dock will disappear as soon as I replace the SBDock.png and respring

I had winterboard installed, but the ipod started lagging alot. Now i want to get rid of it, but i have this dock that i want to keep. Whenever i replace the SBDock.png or SBDock2.png and respring, the dock disappears. Any help?

I ssh'd into my 3g, went to /Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app, and replaced the files instead of using winterboard. Now my icons and dock are jacked up, I don't have the files backed up and feel like such a noob. Anyone know what the dims are is for those files in the iOS4 ?
