Dock Won't go to middle

For the past few months I have had my Powerbook's dock placed on the left side of the screen, because I liked it there, but now that I'm selling it, I set it back to the bottom of the screen, since thats the default. The only problem is instead of sitting right in the center of the bottom of the screen, it sits on the left side of the bottom. No matter what I do I can't get it centered again, any ideas? (I'm running the updated Leopard)

Repair permissions in Disk Utility and restart?
