I just recently sold my 2009 Mac Pro and have taken out the drives I kept in the Mac Pro's four bays as I need to get the data off of them.

I'm looking for a cheap 2 docking station/bay for my Mac drives, just a temporary solution, as I've got a NAS ordered and while I'm waiting for that to arrive I would like to start transferring stuff from the old drives to the new ones.

I believe all my drives are formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) drives. Funny enough, when I plugged two of these old drives into an Icy Box docking station, my Mac couldn't read them and Disk Utility was asking to Initialize these drives.

Is there a solution out there to copy data off these Mac-formatted Journaled drives without formatting and erasing them first?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I use this (the black box). So far, Ive not had any initialization requests or issues. Every thing just shows up on my mac as any other USB drive would.
