Hello.

So I've done some online research regarding this issue but haven't found a solution. I have 3.67 GB taken up on my iPhone from 'documents and data'. I've scoured each app on my iPhone and have seen very little space taken up by these apps with respect to documents and data. I've deleted all my text messages. I've cleared my history and website data in Safari. Still left with 3.67 GB.

I'd love a solution to really get this number down. Thank you.

Do you use Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram? They are notorious for bloating up. Additionally, the health app can get bad too. But nothing you can really do about that. My health app is over 400MB for 1 year of data.

I don't have the Facebook app installed. I don't use the Health app.

Snapchat takes up 335 MB on my iPhone ('Documents and Data'). Instagram 299 MB.

Even if you don't use health, its tracking steps, floors climbed and distance all in the background. Try downloading Battery Doctor and running the cache cleaner several times.

Health app is taking up 12.1 MB. No option to see how much space taken up with respect to documents and data.

Ran Battery Doctor cache cleaner a few times. Barely any difference.

Will a restore and setup as new help?

Yes. But it will just come back. Most of it is system caches.

I just did a restore from new. I then re-downloaded my apps and signed into them. Then I connected my iPhone to my Mac Mini and opened iTunes. Here is my breakdown....

2.58 GB Apps

1.08 GB Documents and Data

1.82 GB Other

Happy to see D&D down to a touch over 1 GB but I'm curious what 'other' entails given I just restored from new.

It's all system caches. But those will grow. Give it about a week and you'll lose another GB between the two.
