Documents, Music, movies, pictures cant be found

Hey I have a ibook g4 and when I go to my home and try click any of the following on the side " documents, music, movies, pictures... it comes up with a message saying " the alias "documents" could not be opened because they cant be found" what do I do ?????
step by step instructions please
