dodge in THOR: SON OF ASGARD doesn't work???

I'm having difficulty with THOR: SON OF ASGARD?

To dodge an enemy attack you need to hold the Block icon and push the movement icon in the desired direction.

This doesn't work for me as Thor cannot move if I am holding the Block icon.

Can anybody help?
