I've like many I've recently updated my computer to the new OSX El Capitan. I was looking forward to splitting my screen and hiding my menu bar. I've found that other people with similar model computers to me (mid 2014 rMBP) are also having trouble splitting the screen and I've accepted that I can't do it. However I can't seen to find anything about other having trouble hiding their menu bar.

In all the pictures/videos I've seen the box you check is just under the dark mode box however When I look in general it's just not there? Was the feature taken out before I downloaded the update or am I missing something?

I have a mid 2014 13" rMBP on OS 10.11 and I see that option to hide/show the menu bar under settings --> general. Try resintalling or restarting?
