Dodgy key on MBP, chances of repair?

I bought a MBP late last year and the R key on my keyboard keeps popping up. It doesn't completely pop off but the right side snaps up and I have to press and click it back into place.

It's been doing it for a while now and so I figure a small piece of plastic under it has broken or something along those lines.

What are my options with regards to repair? I didn't take out Apple Care or anything like that.

Am I SOL?

It all depends on how forgiving the Apple Genius is. I've had them replace an out of warranty iPhone, no questions asked. Be polite and make sure you say that you have no idea why the key stopped working.
