A few days back, I posted a thread about my Logitech Anywhere MX mouse and it's Unifying Receiver (the dongle bit) not showing up in the Logitech software on a MBP. It's slightly odd, as it works fine on my work laptop (Windows) and my other half's MacBook.
I've just been around a friends house where he plugged an external hard drive (FAT32) into his PC. Unfortunately it wasn't recognised - to which I have no idea why - but the disk span. Whereas, I plug it into my MBP (to which it did once work) and it doesn't even spin the disk. Very bizarre but I can only conclude it finally died (perhaps from plugging it in and out of the PC half a dozen times).
After the Logitech issue, I feel like I may be looking far too much into this USB thing but do you think something may be wrong with the USB bus? My newer Western Digital hard drive works flawlessly, as does USB sticks, iOS devices and etc. So I can't decide. Perhaps it's just a bit of (un)luck?
Would you pin this down to just some dodgy hardware or USB?
