Does 3.1 beta solve the battery and warmth issue?

Haven't seen anyone mention yet if the battery and heat issue has been solved on 3.1. This applies from 2g to 3GS. I was hoping that was the main reason behind 3.1 coming out, even though there are other additions in it also.

Can anyone confirm 3.1 solves this?

Battery life has definitely significantly improved on my 3GS.
It still heats up though, slower and slightly less warm, but I don't mind this, it will be really useful in the winter
