is the speakers only for ringtones or can you play your music collection through them..

i just wouldnt put it past Apple to put a limit on the speakers to only ringtones so we had to keep forking out cash for iPod dock-speakers.

You can play video, music, voicemail, youtube, ect. And there is one hell of a difference to iPod dock speakers and the iPhones built in ones.

its not like you can hear the stereo sound with two speakers so close anyway

Nobody yet has said anything about them being louder...Jobs said the audio quality was greatly improved, and I believe the world "clearer" was used at some point. Never was "louder" mentioned.

I hope it is MUCH louder though, because the Speakers, in both places, simply suck. By far the worst piece on the iPhone. The camera would be a close second.

If the speaker isn't much louder, I will most likely pass on the iphone this time around. The speaker is the worst part of the phone hands down.
