It's been driving me a bit bananas on my iPhone 4 where I type a friend's name in the email box and it takes probably a good five seconds for their email address to actually populate.

Does anyone know if this is resolved in 4.1 It's REALLY annoying.

I don't know if that's a common problem or not, but I have an iPhone 4 and this isn't a problem for me at all. Names show up almost immediately.

Hmm... very odd. Well it's been a problem on mine and my wife's iPhone 4s since launch. We have email addresses saved to our individual contacts, and typing their names often (not always) results in a slow pickup of their email addresses.

Only server side Exchange lookup takes any time on mine. Local addresses are instantaneous.

I have this issue also and it still remains in 4.1 for me. I have my contacts synced through MobileMe. Do you?

It seems like it's waiting for the contacts to download again before it fills it in. I did a test that kinda confirms it for me.

If I have my data turned on and try to fill in an email address it takes a couple seconds. If I put my phone in airplane mode and do the same it's instant. Not sure why, but that's what happens.
