On snow leopard with my early 2008 mbp and it seems with 64 bit on, battery life is getting eaten quicker.

Can't really compare though as I haven't used it much with 32 bit.

Anyone?

64-bit should not affect battery life, unless a crap design crawled into SL. If a program uses 100% cpu in 32-bit mode, it will still use 100% in 64-bit mode if the program itself remains as 32-bit. If the same program has a new version which is optimized for 64-bit, it may run faster and save some CPU cycles and save some battery too.

We should say that upgrading to SL may not affect your battery life in normal conditions. It may even improve your battery life if most components run faster (so use less CPU time).

So you can't really compare it but you're pretty sure its "getting eaten quicker"? Isn't there a place in wasteland for this thread?
