Hey there fellas,
I´m running a 2018 15.6 MBP mit a i9 and a Vega 16. So more or less...it´s the ultimate throttling frying pan.
I used to spend a lot of time at customers where I connect the MBP to 1080p screens. The noise levels are alright in this situation. Corona means I´m spending a lot more time at my desk at home where I connect the book to a 5k2k and a 4k screens which means the fans kick in any time even the tiniest load comes up.
As this is the same situation that occurs on the new 16inch MBPs: Is adding a eGPU to this setup a solution for the olders machines aswell? Is anyone running a 15.6 MBP with a i9 and knows if the fan speeds go down as soon as the dedicated GPU is out of the picture?
Best regards
Chris
