I have an iPhone from a few years ago that needs a battery replacement but it isn't that bad. It is my primary phone. Battery health is at 80% or so. I do notice it lags a bit and battery drains really last if I use data to watch YouTube. I know it certainly drains more battery faster than years ago. I will most likely get a battery replacement. However, if I was to back it up to icloud. Then do a factory reset. Then sync it back with icloud. Will it be faster and less laggy or not? I read a few posters saying the battery is always the issue on this?
I do have an older iphone SE 1st generation as well.. Battery health is bad. If I was to charge it fully, battery drains fast. The other main issue is it lags to the point where you can't even click on certain things on the screen. I do know that whenever I charge it with a charging cable, it takes a few tries. I guess the cable connector has issues right? But this phone is old so I would not bother fixing that part. The thing is I do have an iPhone 6s that someone else no longer uses and even though the battery was similar or maybe better than this, it was certainly useable to use when using it on wifi.
The thing is if I do a backup to icloud of this iphone SE 1st generation and factory reset it, would it be fast or not? Or the battery is the culprit here? Now once I sync everything back to the iPhone SE 1st generation, would I have the same lag issues now? The lag issues are bad to the point of you can't even click on much. The other thing is we have another iPhone that is the iPhone 7 I believe. The battery health shows service on it but you can still use it with a little bit of lag. So with those other phones having worst or same battery health, why is this older iPhone SE 1st generation so laggy? Is it possible replacing the battery won't do anything and to not bother with this older phone anymore? I would not feel good if I get this battery replaced for this old phone only for the lag issue to still happen.
