Does a Fresh Install Reset the Firmware Password?

I just recently sold my old 2007 MBP, after zeroing out the HD and installing a fresh copy of OSX 10.6. I had a firmware password on it and forgot to check to see if it was still active after the install.

Does the firmware p/w remain unchanged after an install or will it reset?

It will remain unchanged and in place.
