does a macbook pro unibody late 2008 have an efi chip ?

hello ...


some one has given me a mbp unibody late 2008
without an hdd or functioning disk drive on it ...

I have played around with this mbp some
charging the battery > first green lite on the mag ...
then orange ... then after hours green again !

and just starting it will bring a white screen
and after mabe 10 seconds this ( ? )
on the white screen ...

and when pressing ( alt ) ... the track pad pointer in the center
and moving ... but nothing to point to !

now I have played some more with this macbook pro
and pressing alt + cmd + r + p has reset the pram

so now I can hear the chime at the start
and the pointer is now lower on down
but still moving

but still nothing to choose from !!!
so it seems the efi chip in there is gone ?
or do we need an efi section installed on the hdd first ?
I have installed from an external 250 gb sata hdd
to showing any selection to boot from ?

so I can install the mac os with a boot stick
made from the os 10.5.6 dmg

I am already having on some other usb stick ...


does any one here know more about what to do next ?
