Apple states this on its Series 7 page:

”Apple Watch Series 7 requires an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 15 or later.”
1. So, is a 2016 iPhone SE later than a 6s?!

2. Where on Apple's website does it tell the average Joe?

I found this website, which shows the SE coming out well after the 6s. A year and a half to be precise.

3. Can anyone confirm that iPhone SE 2016 works with a Series 7? Are there any limitations?

4. Does anyone know how much battery hit iOS 15 produces on an iPhone SE? It devastated it on my iPad Air 2!

The more serious I get about the Watch, the more it looks like I need to join this decade of Apple products! ?

Well, since the SE 2016 can run iOS 15 it should work with the current Watch models. Can’t confirm it, since I don’t own that iPhone model, but software-wise it‘s fine.

The iPhone SE and the second generation iPhone SE work fine with the Apple Watch. I have a second generation SE linked to my watch and there are no issues.
