Does any AdBlocker not slow Safari down a bit?

Glimmer blocker seems the best to me speed wise but it does that annoying thing where it doesn't re-render the page, and just leaves a massive white gap where the ad should be.

Has anybody else found that AdBlock, AdBlock Plus and AdGuard add a little 'slow' into the party? AdGuard I guess seems the least offensive but I've only done a quick run through.

Anybody have any insight?
 
AdBlock Plus works for me with no problem, used it for years also on Firefox and Chrome. I find AdBlock Plus faster than AdBlock.
 
Not sure about Safari. I use Adblock Plus and Flashblock in Firefox and Chrome. Both speed up browsing significantly.

I use AdGuard in conjunction with the hosts file. There are a few places to get a fairly updated hosts file. See below for a few lines from a hosts file.

What do I do with that?
 
The Hosts Prefpane is what I use to edit the hosts file.

Running Adblock Plus seems to kill youtube ads, on Firefox and Safari. Just make sure to uncheck "Allow some ads".
 
For Safari, adjured seems to be much lighter on resources.
For Chrome, use uBlock. Much much lighter and faster then ABP.
