this is on my computer at work and tried to uninstall the virus protection cause they bog this thing down. If I could get the name of it I could search for it that way
 
Looks like Norton.

If it is a work computer ask your IT guys to uninstall it and put clamav on it if they have to have an antivirus solution.

Usually IT departments have software that they standardize on and generally will not let you run just whatever you want. This makes troubleshooting, maintaining, and imaging much, much easier.

I used to work in IT and if your are nice and ask they should let you put any software that has nothing harmful on a computer that is what i used to do

Yes, I know. In this instance clamav is the best antivirus solution for OS X and it is free. No really, all the other ones suck and crash your system more than they protect you from viruses.
